Improve Your Fuel Economy With These Three Easy Tips

Don't you hate thinking to yourself "I just put gas in my car the other day"? While putting gas in your car is necessary to get from here to there you can do a few simple things to help improve your fuel economy and fill up less often regardless of what type of car you drive.

  • Keep your car in shape. Make sure that your tires are properly inflated, your oil is changed at regular increments, and your air filter too. Staying on top of routine maintenance keeps your car running smoothly which boost fuel economy.
  • Use cruise control and avoid speeding. It is a good idea to use cruise control as much as possible. Keeping your car at a constant speed is more efficient than speeding up and slowing down. And speed uses more fuel to keep your car moving faster. Driving at 64mph instead of 75 will reduce the amount of fuel you use by 15%.
  • Removing extra weight from your car will light then overall weight and in turn, use less gas. If you don't need your bike rack or Thule every day or even every other day consider taking it off when you don't need it.
